Allein unterwegs - Going out alone

Hallo & Welcome back.

Seit Oktober 2014 lebe ich nun in Klagenfurt. Und seit kurzem habe ich meinen Hauptwohnsitz hier.

Zuvor habe ich gegenüber von der Uni gewohnt - und alle meine Freunde eigentlich auch. Aber mit dem Wintersemester 2015/16 sind einige Freunde umgezogen, und wir haben nicht mehr alle nebeneinander gewohnt.
Trotzdem sind wir eigentlich immer von der Uni weggestartet wenn wir in die Stadt wollten - und mit dem Taxi wieder zurück zu mir gefahren.

Nun bin ich aber umgezogen - wir wohnen irgendwie noch weiter voneinader entfernt aber irgendwie auch doch nicht (schwer zu sagen).
Am Mittwoch war dann die Eröffnung der Beach Bar - bei (fast) winterlichen Temperaturen.
Ich habe dann etwas gewagt, was ich laut Behindertenpass nicht einmal kann. Ich bin alleine (!) mit dem Bus zur Uni gefahren. Und später auch wieder alleine zurück.

Nun ja, es steht zwar im Behindertenpass, dass ich das nicht alleine kann, aber so etwas steht recht schnell da drin. Und ich kenne so viele RollstuhlfahrerInnen die täglich alleine mit den Öffis fahren, obwohl sie es laut Behindertenpass nicht können.
Ich finde es ja gut, dass es im Behindertenpass steht. Denn um ehrlich zu sein: wenn es möglich wäre, würde ich immer mit Begleitperson fahren. Da fühle ich mich einfach wohler - wahrscheinlich auch, weil ich es nicht anders kenne. Außerdem brauche ich die Assistenz damit sie mir Sachen tragt, die ich selbst nicht tragen kann.

Trotzdem habe ich mich getraut. Das gute war: ich hatte bei diesen zwei Busfahrten zwei sehr nette Busfahrer - die immer gefragt haben, ob auch alles ok sei und der Rollstuhl gut & vor allem sicher steht.


I am living in Klagenfurt already since October 2014. And I am now having my principal residence here in Klagenfurt.

I used to live in front of the university - and all my friends did so too. But it all changed with the beginning of the winter semester 2k15/16 - because some of my friends moved into their own apartements and so we didn't live next to each other anymore.

However we used to take the bus from the uni anyways - and we always came back to my dorm whenever we went to a party.

But now I moved away too - and since then we leave somehow closer but also further away from the uni.
Wednesday it was time for the opening of the so called "Beach Bar" - and it was sooo cold - just like it is during wintertime.
And I then took the chance to go by bus on my own for the very first time. And my identity card for disabled persons says, that I can not use the bus or any other public transport on my own. And I also went back from the Uni; on my own - with the bus.

Well, the ID card says, that I can not do this. But you can find that in there very easily - and also very fast. I know so many people who always drive on their own - even if the ID says that they can not do so.
I think that it is great that the ID says that we can not use it on our own. To be honest: If it would be possible I wouldn't go without a carer or any other friend anymore. I just feel better if I do so - probably also because I am used to go with a friend - and not on my own. And it is a fact that I can not carry heavier things like a laptop on my own.

However, I did it anyways. The good thing was: I had two really nice bus-drivers who always asked me if I was ok, and if the wheelchair is standing good.
