Zurück ins Gailtal? - Back to the "roots" (Gailtal)

Hallo & Welcome back.

Im Titel seht ihr schon, welche Gedanken mir durch den Kopf gehen.
Und das eigentlich schon seit etwas längerer Zeit - vor allem seit ich Lychee habe.

Ich habe das auch zu meinen Eltern schon gesagt.
Dafür müsste sich aber im Tal einiges ändern!
Es müsste barrierefrei werden. Die Gehwege, die Öffis, ein Rollstuhltaxi, und auch die Zugverbindung müsste barrierefrei werden und etwas schneller sein - dann wäre man auch relativ schnell in der nächsten etwas größeren Stadt.
Außerdem müsste man auch im Gailtal Assistenz finden - und das bitte relativ einfach und schnell.

Im Moment ist das alles nicht der Fall. Trotzdem ist man im Gailtal einfach besser aufgehoben wenn man einen Hund hat.
Ja, leider gibt es viele freilaufende Hunde - das kann auch zum Problem werden. Vor allem dann, wenn man so wie ich, alleine spazieren geht und man den Hund eigentlich an der Leine hat.
Trotzdem gibt es am Land nunmal mehr Wiesen - Flächen wo der Hund einfach viel zum erkunden hat.
Ja an dieser Stelle muss ich anmerken: ich habe Glück. Ich wohne ganz in der Nähe von einer Spaziergehzone - da hat Lychee auch ihre geliebte Wiese und das alles.

Natürlich müsste ich dort auch einen Job finden - das stell ich mir aber noch leichter vor, da ich nicht der Typ Mensch bin der sagt: "Das mach ich nicht; das auch nicht; und das sowieso nicht".
Doch die Wohnung müsste natürlich noch leistbar sein (und barrierefrei!), da ich auf keinen Fall bei meinen Eltern wohnen möchte (nichts gegen euch!).
Ich lebe nämlich nun seit April alleine in einer Wohnung - und es ist einfach wunderschön!

Aber ja, ich würde - wenn alles passt - zurück ins Gailtal gehen!

As you can tell by the title I am probably thinking about going back home.
Well, Gailtal is not exactly where I lived my first 10 years of life but it is where my parents life.
I am thinking of going back already for a while - probably since I am having Lychee.

I already talked to my parents about it.
But things should change in the valley before I would move back!
It should be barrier-free: the pavement, the public transport, there should be a cab which can bring a wheelchair, and also the train should be accessible - and faster; that's how you'd get to the next city really easy.
And there should be personal assistance even there - and also easy to find.

Well right now you won't find this things there. But with a dog it is still better to live there than in the city.
Yeah, there are dogs which are running free; and this can be a problem when you walk alone with your dog and when your dog is on the cord. But there are still a lot of green areas where your dog has a lot to explore.
However, I am lucky enough that where I live now such a green area is close even though I do live in the city!

Well, of course I also would have to find a job in the valley - but I guess this won't be that hard because I am not that kind of person that says: "I won't do that; neither that; nor that".
And of course the appartement would have to be affordable (and accessible!), I don't want to move back to my parents.
I am living in my own appartement since April and I love it!

And yes, I would move back to the "roots" if everything would be accessible.

#TeamLandL: ParaAgility

Es ist Freitag und Zeit für einen neuen Blogpost über mich und meine Lychee! Ganz ehrlich: wer mir auf Twitter folgt konnte ja erwarten was als nächstes kommt - ich habe über ParaAgility nachgedacht!

Als ich am Samstag wieder Martin Rütter geschaut habe hab ich das erste Mal von ParaAgility gehört.
Zuerst möcht ich mal sagen, dass ich es top gefunden habe dass der Rütter sich einfach mal für zwei Tage in den Rollstuhl gesetzt hat.

Agility ist ja wahrscheinlich jedem bekannt; dass Pudel eigentlich sehr gut für Agility geeignet sind.
Ich hab mir schon oft gedacht, dass ich eigentlich gerne Agility mit Lychee machen würde. Aber ich dachte immer: wie soll das mit Rollstuhl funktionieren?
Aber nun habe ich gegoogelt und herausgefunden, dass es einen Österreichischen ParaAgility Verein gibt. Das Ding ist jedoch, dass man sich erst selbst einen normalen Agility-Verein suchen muss der sich bereit erklärt, seine Übungshalle/seinen Übungsplatz (eine Halle ist natürlich besser) so zu adaptieren, dass man auch als Rollstuhlfahrer zurechtkommt.

Mich würde das zwar interessieren, aber ich stell es mir in Kärnten extrem schwierig vor. Trotzdem sag ich nicht grundsätzlich nein dazu und falls jemand Tipps für mich hat, immer her damit!
Ich möchte sowieso warten, bis Lychee ausgewachsen ist!

PS: Bevor der deutschprachige Part zu Ende ist, wollt ich euch noch sagen, dass Lychee nun eine eigene Facebook-Seite hat; dort updaten wir euch so gut wie täglich! Also gebt LYCHEETHEPOODLE ein Gefällt mir!


It is Friday and it is time for a new blogpost about Lychee and me! To be honest: If you'd understand german you'd probably know (because of Twitter) what this will be about - I was thinking about ParaAgility.

Saturday I saw Martin Rütter (just google him - he is great when it comes to dogs!) on TV again - and since then I know that ParaAgility exists.
First of all I would like to say, that I was so happy that Martin Rütter decided to check out how it is to live when you are in a wheelchair - at least he did so for two days.

You all may know Agility; and you may also know that Poodles are great for this kind of dog-sport. I often was thinking, that I would love to do Agility with Lychee. But I was always thinking: how should that work when you are sitting in a wheelchair?
But then I googled it and saw, that an Austrian ParaAgility Club exists. But you still have to check out the usual Agility-Clubs and ask them, if the would make their drill ground accessible for you!

I would be interested in doing ParaAgility. But I do think that it would be extremely hard here in Carinthia. But if you know anything please let me know!
I still have to wait until Lychee is older than one year & already grown up!

Journalismus & das perfekte Hotel - Journalism & the perfect hotel room

Letzte Woche war es endlich so weit! Ich war in Wien und habe den Journalistinnenkongress 2016 besucht - dieser fand im Haus der Industrie statt.

Doch erst zurück zum Anfang: ich habe mich vor einigen Monaten beim #JoKo2016 (unter diesem Hashtag haben wir getwittert) beworben um als YoungStar teilzunehmen - und es hat auch gleich geklappt.
Wie ihr vielleicht wisst (vielleicht hab ich es mal erwähnt) nenne ich meine Beeinträchtigung immer am Ende einer Bewerbung. Im Oktober habe ich dann noch einmal bei der Ansprechperson die die YoungStars hatten gemeldet und nachgefragt, wie barrierefrei das Haus der Industrie sei.
Sie hat mir recht schnell zurückgeschrieben und gemeint, dass es vielleicht besser wäre wenn ich mit dem Aktivrollstuhl komme, da das Haus der Industrie doch ein altes Gebäude ist.

Ich war total positiv überrascht. Okey, der Lift wär vielleicht zu klein gewesen für meinen Elektrorollstuhl. Aber das RollstuhlWC war einfach total groß - da bin ich eigentlich anderes gewöhnt. Und ich musste auch keine einzige Stufe überwinden - denn über den Lieferanteneingang gab es gar keine Probleme.
Ich bin aber froh, dass vorher abgeklärt zu haben. Denn beim Journalistinnenkongress waren viele Menschen  und mit E-Rollstuhl ist man unter vielen Menschen immer aufgeschmissen; mit Aktivrollstuhl kommt man einfach leichter durch.

Zum Tag selbst: Ich hatte große Erwartungen; und diese wurden übertroffen. Der Tag war toll, ich hab viel gelernt und hoffe, nächstes Jahr wieder teilnehmen zu können (wenn ich mich richtig erinnere, findet der #JoKo2017 am 7. November statt).

Und jetzt kommt das Beste: unser Hotel war nicht weit weg. Wir konnten zu Fuß zum Haus der Industrie, und die U-Bahn Station war auch gleich ums Eck. Das Hotel: Motel One Wien Staatsoper.
Ich hab ja in Deutschland schon (notgedrungen) in einem Motel One übernachtet und zwar ein modernes Zimmer erwartet, welches aber eher klein ist. Doch ich wurde überrascht: wie man auf den Fotos sehen kann war das Zimmer riesig; auch mit E-Rollstuhl kein Problem. Und ein großer Pluspunkt war der automatische Türöffner beim Hotelzimmer!

Last week I finally went to the #JoKo2016 - a congress about woman who work as journalists. It took part in Vienna in the "Haus der Industrie".

 
I did have contact with one person because of the accessibility in the house where the congress took part. She actually wrote me that I should come with my wheelchair which has to be pushed because it is an old house.

However we had no problems! The elevator is probably too little for my electronical wheelchair - but it was great with the red wheelchair which has to be pushed. And the toilet for disabled once has been huge - I am not used to that!
But I am still happy that I got in contact with one person some weeks before the congress took part - a lot of people have been there and I am happy that I did not go there with my electronical wheelchair as it is always hard to drive through a crowd of people without hurting anyone.

The congress took part on Wednesday (9th fo November) and I had some expectations. And the day has been great and I did learn a lot and I hope that I can go to the #JoKo2017 (it will take part on the 7th of November 2017).
 
And now lets get to the best thing: Our hotel has not been far away from the "Haus der Industrie", and even the Undergroundstation was not far away. The hotel: Motel One Wien (Vienna) Staatsoper. I already slept in a Motel One back when I was in Germany and I did expect a room which is quite modern but little. But I have been positively surprised: As you can see on some of the pictures the room was huge; I had no problems with my electronical wheelchair. And the room even had an automatical door opener!

Wieder Chippendales - Chippendales again

Hallo & Welcome back.

Vor gut einem Monat war ich mit meiner Besten Freundin in Innsbruck. Bilder davon habt ihr sicher auf Instagram gesehen - ihr werdet aber auch hier welche sehen.

Normalerweise würde ich euch jetzt verraten, in welchem Hotel wir waren. Weil es war nicht allzu teuer und auch echt toll mit dem E-Rollstuhl. Vor allem unser Zimmer war riesig und sogar der Schrank war barrierefrei - es gab eine "Kleiderstange zum heraußnehmen".

Wir waren in Innsbruck, weil ich noch nie dort wart und unbedingt einmal die Stadt sehen wollte. Das haben wir damit verbunden, dass wir bei der "Break the Rules Tour" der Chippendales waren :D
Nun auch die Auflösung warum ich nicht schreibe, in welchem Hotel wir waren: die Chippendales waren im selben.
Und man weiß ja nicht, ob sie nicht beim nächsten Innsbruck-Aufenthalt wieder dort übernachten.

Die Show war übrigens super - wie immer.
Sie fand im Congress Innsbruck statt - im Saal Tirol. Leider hatte ich absolut keinen guten Sitzplatz; wie schon bei der Show in Graz.
Zu meinem Tshirt bin ich trotzdem gekommen ;) und ich war kurz in der ersten Reihe weil meine Beste Freundin auf der Bühne war (einen kurzen Ausschnitt dazu findet ihr eh auf meinem Instagram-Account).

About one month ago I went to Innsbruck with my BFF. You may have seen pictures of that on my Instagram - and you will see some here.

Usually I would now tell you where I slept; because our hotel has been super affordable and also wheelchair accessible. And our room has been huge!

We have been in Innsbruck because I've always wanted to visit this city. And we decided to do that while the "Break the Rules Tour" is stopping by in Innsbruck :D
And here's why I won't tell you where we slept: because the Chippendales were in the same hotel.
And you never know if they'll sleep in the exact same hotel again.

The show was actually great - once again.
The show took place in the Congress Innsbruck - in Saal Tirol. I once again had a very bad few on the stage - it was the same in Graz.
However I got a tshirt ;) and I once have been in the first row as my BFF has been on stage (you may have seen a short video on my Instagram).
