Hundelauf - Running with my dog

Hallo & Welcome back!


Auf Lychee's Blog wollte ich eigentlich eher keine kritsichen Themen - schon gar keine die etwas mit meinem Handicap zu tun haben - aufgreifen.
Allerdings blieb mir nichts anderes übrig. Denn das aktuelle, kritische Thema hat etwas mit dem Thema Hund zu tun.

Kurz und knapp:
Meine Hündin läuft für ihr Leben gerne! Für sie gibt es glaube ich kaum eine bessere Freizeitbeschäftigung als laufen.
Und da es bei den Kärnten läuft Bewerben unter anderem einen Hundelauf gibt, dachte ich mir so, da könnten wir doch auch mitmachen.
Tja, dachten wir. Aber es geht bei dem Thema noch weiter; nämlich um die Gesundheit der teilnehmenden Hunde.

Ich habe all meine Gedanken im folgenden Blogpost verfasst: Teilnahme beim Dogging 2018?

My Dog loves to run. It is probably her favourite leisure activity.
So in carinthia we have the opportunity to take part of one event where you can run with your dog - it is kind of a little marathon.
I am talking about Kärnten läuft.

And we now found out, that people in a wheelchair are not welcome there.
So I have written a blogpost about that on Lychee's Blog. But it is only in german.

Since a few people have been asking me to translate the Blogpost you can find on my other blog i wanted to do so now.
The main problem is, that we can not take part of the run because I am using a wheelchair. The event manager says that it is because of security reasons. My wheelchair would be a safety problem.

But that is not the only thing which makes me mad!
The other problem in my point of view is, that there is no specific equipment in which the dogs have to take part. 
That means, that dogs can take part of the run - dpes not matter if they are in a harness or a collar.
I think that this is ridiculous!
On the one hand the event management says that I can not take part of the run just vecause of my wheelchair being a safety problem in their point of view; but on the other hand they don‘t care about the safety of the dogs at all!

This is just a short overview - but so everybodycan understand what is actually going on.

Angst vor Hunden? - Scared of dogs?

Hallo & Welcome back.

Wenn ich euch jetzt erzähle, dass ich gerade mit der Ausbildung zur (tierschutzqualifizierten) Hundetrainerin gestartet habe, obwohl im Titel steht, dass ich Angst vor Hunden habe, werden einige von euch sicherlich staunen.

Aber zurück zum Anfang.
Ich liebe Hunde. Immer schon. So wie auch viele andere Tierarten (zB Katzen, Vögel, Hamster oder Pferde). Allerdings liebe ich Hunde erst dann, wenn ich sie kenne.
Zuvor mag ich sie, habe aber großen Respekt vor ihnen. Immer schon. Und das werde ich auch immer haben.
Allerdings kann ich mittlerweile Hunde sehr gut lesen und deshalb meinen Respekt sehr gut kontrollieren. Das heißt, ich breche nicht in Angstschweiß aus.

Durch Lychee habe ich viel gelernt. Und gemeinsam mit Lychee bin ich zu einem Trainingsjunkie geworden.
Neue Sachen ausprobieren gehören für uns zum Alltag. So habe ich auch gerade eben ganz allein ein Anti-Giftköder-Training aufgebaut und ausprobiert und bisher klappt es super - zumindest mit Lychee.
Aber was mir besonders wichtig ist, ist die Bindung von Hund & Mensch. Und solch eine Bindung funktioniert meiner Meinung nach nur, wenn man gewaltfrei arbeitet.
Deshalb möchte ich am Ende meiner Ausbildung auch den Titel "tierschutzqualifizierte Hundetrainerin" haben, denn für mich ist positives Hundetraining sehr wichtig. Es liegt mir am Herzen.

Mit Lychee habe ich außerdem eine weitere Lanze gebrochen. Sie ist (wahrscheinlich) eine der kleinsten Assistenzhündinnen Österreichs - zumindest am Rollstuhl (Servicehund) und zeigt, dass man auch mit kleinen Hunden arbeiten kann und diese nicht von vorne bis hinten durchs Leben tragen muss.
Und jetzt ratet mal, mit welchen Hunden ich gerne arbeiten würde? - Genau; kleinen Hunden. Außerdem möchte ich Menschen die Angst vor Hunden nehmen. Denn mir konnte sie auch genommen werden.
Aber mal sehen, was die Zukunft bringt.


I am happy to announce that I am on my way to be a certified dogtrainer.
Well, on my way sounds like I'll be there soon. I won't. It will take me at least two years.

However you might be irritated now since I wrote in the title that I am scared of dogs.
I really am. However, as soon as I know them I am not anymore.
And because of Lychee I learned to read in dogs just like I do in books.
And so I do have some respect of dogs (and everyone should have that) but as soon as I know them better I really love them.
I love animals in general. 

Since my english speaking readers my train their dogs really differently I don't want to write too much.
However, I want to concentrate on positive dogtraining. Non-violant working is really important for me. So that is what I am going to do.
And I really would love to train little dogs. Because I think that Lychee really showed a lot of people what little dogs can learn; and that they are dogs too who don't have to be treated like a toy.

We will see what the future holds.
