#TeamLandL: Stubenrein - House-trained

Ich würde heute gerne mal über ein Thema schreiben, bei denen viele Hundebesitzer gerne mal ein bisschen lügen. Wenn man fragt: "Wann war denn dein Hund stubenrein?" bekommt man oft als Antwort: "Ach relativ schnell - der hat mir nur 1-2x reingemacht; und groß hat er sowieso nie reingemacht!".
Ach was! Jeder der einen Hund hat - und diesen vielleicht auch schon als Welpen bekommen hat weiß, wie unrealistisch das ist!


Ja, ein Hund wird recht schnell stubenrein! Lychee zum Beispiel war dies schon mit circa 4,5 Monaten. ABER es liegt am Menschen - also in dem Fall an mir - ihre Zeichen richtig zu deuten.
Lychee ist nicht der typische Hund der sich, wenn er raus muss, vor die Haustüre setzt und jammern anfängt oder vielleicht sogar bellt. Das war wohl etwas, was ich wirklich am meisten und schnellsten lernen musste! Und für jeden, der auf Lychee das erste Mal aufpasst ist es schwierig zu verstehen, wann sie raus muss.
So meldet sich Lychee: Sie hüpft einen an (sie ist ja nur klein). Macht dies einige Male hintereinander - dies kann aber manchmal auch bedeuten, dass sie spielen will - und irgendwann rennt sie dann zur Tür und dann wieder zurück zur Person, die sie vorher angesprungen ist. Sie wird richtig nervös. Man hat dann ungefähr noch 5 Minuten, um mit ihr rauszugehen! Ganz anders, als die meisten Hunde, oder?
Wenn Lychee mal im Bett liegt und raus muss, fängt sie an zu jammern, da sie vom Bett nicht selbst  runterhüpft. 

Wenn ich sage, dass Lychee mit 4,5 Monaten schon stubenrein war heißt das nicht, dass sie mir danach nicht mehr reingemacht hat! Es war nur eigentlich immer mein Fehler!

Ein Tipp, für alle neuen Welpenbesitzer: Eure Hunde möchten vielleicht am Anfang draußen nicht machen. Und erst recht nicht wenn es regnet! Nehmt euch Leckerlies mit. Führt ein Wort wie zum Beispiel "Gassi" ein, bei jedem Mal wo sie ihr Geschäft erledigen. Und gebt ihnen danach ein Leckerlie als Belohnung.
Irgendwann weiß euer Hund: wenn ihr draußen seid und ihr ihm sagt "Gassi" - jetzt kann/darf er sein Geschäft erledigen ;)


Today I would like to write about a subject where many dog owner begin to lie - at least a little bit. If you ask someone "When has your dog been house-trained and clean?" many will say "Oh actually really fast; my dog only peeed into my house once or twice!". 
Every dog owner knows, how unrealistic this is!
 
Yes, a dog is clean quite fast - at least usually. Lychee has been - for example - house-trained already at the age of 4,5 months. BUT this does not mean that she did not pee into my house anymore; but it only happened if you did not see her signs.
Lychee is not this typical kind of dog which sits down in front of the door and starts barking just because she needs to go out. And that is something I really had to learn!
How Lychee shows me (or everyone who is taking care of her) that she needs to go out for peeing: She starts to jump around me several times, then is running to the door, then is coming back and is jumping around again. After she is doing that you have about 5 more minutes until she really needs to pee! This is a real different style to many other dogs - when it comes to showing that she needs to go out, right?
If Lychee is chilling in my bed and has to go out, she starts to cry because she can not jump down from my bed.

A tip for all the upcoming puppy owner: Your dogs may not like peeing out side in the first days. Probably especially not if it is raining! Take your goodies with you. And start to introduce a word like "Pee" whenever your puppy is peeing. And afterwards you give your dog a goodie as a reward.
After some weeks your dog will know, that if you go outside and tell him "Pee" that she or he can go pee and do all his stuff.
