Barcelona

Hallo & Welcome back.

Ich war in Barcelona!
Vor einigen Jahren war ich in Mallorca, und damals mussten wir in Barcelona umsteigen. Ich fand ja den Flughafen damals schon so toll und wollte unbedingt die Stadt selbst auch mal sehen.

Heuer war es dann endlich so weit!
Aber warum genau heuer?
Ja, ich möchte euch das jetzt einfach kurz erzählen da die ganzen Geschehnisse auch nicht an mir vorbeigehen. Eigentlich möchte ich wieder einmal nach London. Aber als wir heuer überlegt hatten, wo wir hinfahren könnten, war uns London einfach ein Dorn im Auge. Zu gefährlich. Zu viele grausame Geschehnisse. Wir können die Stadt ja auch nächstes Jahr wieder besuchen.
Dann haben wir uns für den Süden beziehungsweise Barcelona entschieden, weil uns das sicher vorkam - zumindest mir.
Nun, als ich dann wenige Wochen vorm Urlaub von dem Terroranschlag in Barcelona erfuhr, war ich erstmal geschockt. Irgendwie war ich sauer, traurig, einfach alles zur selben Zeit.
Ich wollte trotzdem nach Barcelona! Aber ich dachte auch: warum jetzt auch noch dort? Wo sind wir überhaupt noch sicher?

Ich bin jetzt aber überglücklich, Barcelona besucht zu haben. Es ist eine wunderschöne Stadt wo man auch mit dem Rollstuhl gut klar kommt.
Es gibt online einen U-Bahnplan der anzeigt, welche Stationen NICHT barrierefrei sind. Und auch beim Strand gibt es einen barrierefreien Zugang, sowie Strandrollstühle.
Bei den einzelnen Geschäften gibt es sehr oft Rampen - viele wurden im Nachhinein angebracht.

Trotz allem - und obwohl ich viele E-Rollifahrer gesehen habe - würde ich die Stadt eher mit dem Aktivrollstuhl besuchen. Viele Geschäfte und auch Lifte sowie U-Bahnzugänge sind einfach zu schmal für einen E-Rollstuhl. Wobei es natürlich Möglichkeiten gibt das alles zu umgehen!

Der Urlaub war sehr schön und auch das Wetter ganz OK.
Die Stadt Barcelona ist einfach schön. Egal ob es regnet oder die Sonne scheint. Mir hat es gut gefallen und ich würde dort gerne mal einen Sommerurlaub verbringen - denn der Strand war auch barrierefrei.
Außerdem sind in Barcelona so viele Hunde! Vielleicht kann ich ja einmal mit Lychee hin :)

I visited Barcelona!
I have been to Mallorca already some years ago. When we went there we had to wait some hours on the airport of Barcelona. Already back then I said "I really want to visit this city".

This year my dream came true.
But why this year? Well, I would like to tell you a story. I really would like to go to London again. However, this year I was too scared to go there. So I decided to visit another place. Going to Barcelona felt great until everything happened a few weeks ago .. When I saw the sad News I was not feeling good.
However I still wanted to visit this city! But I still asked myself: Why now? Why Barcelona? Why are they doing this and where are we still safe?

Now I am truly happy that I went to Barcelona! The city and its Beach is so beautifull.
Online you can find a metro-plan which is showing you which Stations are NOT ACCESSIBLE.
And even the beach is accessible. They have special water-wheelchairs and all that stuff.

However - and even though I have seen a lot of electronical wheelchair drivers in the city - I would visit this city again with my wheelchair in which I have to be pushed. A lot of areas are just too small for a big wheelchair. 

The vacation has been great and the weather was OK.
The city is beautiful. Doesn't matter if it is raining or not. I really enjoyed being there and would like to go there again for a summerholiday because even the beach is accessible.
And you can find a lot of dogs in Barcelona! Maybe I can take Lychee there too :)
